Co-op Academies Recogntion Awards 2024

It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to capture the Co-op Academies Recognition Awards again. This is always such a special event to be part of. I do a lot of work with Co-op Academies so I always know so many of the staff members that attend the awards, and it’s lovely to catch up with them all.

Co-op Academies have schools in West Yorkshire, Manchester, Stoke, and The Wirral, so the awards location moves between these areas each year. This year, the awards were at The Kings Hall in Stoke. This beautiful building has gorgeous tall ceilings and a brilliant balcony that I could use to get a great angle of the venue.

The evening started with performances from Co-Academy Stoke and Co-op Academy Friarswood. Co-op Academy Stoke performed a song from The Lion King which was fantastic. The students were so confrident and talented. The Co-op Academy Friarswood choir then got everyone on their feet with an outstanding performance of Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’.

After some delicious food it was time for the awards. There was a mixture of awards for individuals and schools including ‘Show You Care’ and ‘Teacher of the Year’. It was wonderful to hear all about the different projects and initiatives throughout the trust as each nominee was announced. Co-op Academy Glebe won primary school of the year, Co-op Academy Belle Vue won secondary school of the year and Delius won special school of the year. The full list of winners can be seen here.

Thanks so much for having me along Co-op Academies Trust.
