My name is Anna and I’ve been a professional photographer for over a decade. I have been creating photographs for education providers to use in their advertising for the last 5 years and I have loved every minute. I cover education settings throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, Manchester, Cumbria, Merseyside and Staffordshire – all over the North West.
ABOUT ME
My background before education photography was wedding photography, and although the two genres are very different, the skills needed for each are very similar! It’s all about being able to work with different lights, schedules, backgrounds and environments, and put people at ease in front of the camera. My wedding work has always been very candid and natural, leaning less towards posed images and more towards real imagery of the day. My school work has the same ideology. I prefer to create authentic images of each education setting, which not only show off the individual attributes of the community but are also completely unique to each school.
My approach is very different to the ‘must have shot list’ that traditional prospectus photographers would arrive with at a school. I take the time to talk to you about what makes your education centre different, and what you are most proud of. We’ll also look at the kind of messages you would like to show through your images. These become the focus of your photographs. You don’t need the same staged photos every other school or college has – or images you could easily get off a stock website – but genuine, happy moments that will make you stand out.

Education providers who invest in a photography day find the images are incredibly useful in daily school life. From obvious uses such as on the prospectus and website, to more daily uses such as newsletters, displays, flyers, press releases, school stories and presentations. Having a bank of images ready to use for a number of purposes is a great time saver and also a helpful way to reinforce the ethos of your school.
